A new version of SpaceBubble is released with the following changes:
11/02/2009 Version 0.8
– Improve Frame-per-second performance during game play.
– Show frame per second information on game screen.
– Added information popup windows.
– Added 10 seconds extra playtime to each level.
– Disable MP3 background music support. Too slow!
– Bug fix: Remove bug in Global Highscore functionality.
– Build game with libogc 1.7.1 and devkitPPC r16 compiler.
Can you add an option for activate/deactivate the fps on the screen ?
Why? Do not see the benefit. 😮
Hi MLtm,
Can you check if the following sample code (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Image:Sample_netsend.zip.) is working on your Wii LAN device. Technecal says that this code works. I did a cross check with my http source code. Do not see any difference. So i wondering if this example is working on your LAN device. Looking forward to your reaction.

I can’t compile this app, because, I’m using a Mac (no DevKitPro for MAC)
there is a devkit for mac. just install xcode. after you done this, get the osx package from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=114505&package_id=124208&release_id=645265 and install this.
then a short ‘make install’ and use your preferred to load it.
btw great game.
That’s for your comment! MLtm can you try it out!
I’m downloading XCode (1.15Go oO)…
Do not understand totally your remark. Did your successful compile the example? What were the results. Did the Wii LAN device work?
So, my soluce for highscore menu works ? 😀
No, see below. Still users having problems also with the newest release! 😮
The online high score still crashes for me. I can see the release notes fine but the high scores still crash just like all of the other versions 🙁
Hi Tim, sorry for that. 😕 I can not find any bug so far. The game is working for 95% of the users. CashMan send me some interested comments what could possible be wrong. I have adapted the code a little bit. But now we know for sure that this is not solving the problem. Can you maybe provide me with more information about your locale situation. Do you use a Wii PAL version, Wifi or ethernet LAN connection, Is the network thread status idle before you enter the highscore screens, Is the local highscore screen working?. Can you try RedSquare. Is this game also crashing in the Local or Global highscore area. Looking forward to more details about the problem?
Oh, yes. It doesn’t work too i’ve tested.
Hi CashMan, This evening i have test SpaceBubble v0.80 with all kind of TV Mode: 50Hz / 60Hz, Wide screen / Normal Screen, etc.. In every TV mode it is working fine on my site. I am completely lost what could be wrong. Can you please check if the RedSquare highscore area is working fine. This other game is using 90% the same source code. So i am wondering if this game is also crashing in the same area. Looking forward to your reaction. 😉
I’m using a USA wii and both of RedSquare’s highscores work and never crash. When I start SpaceBubble and check the highs scores it says that they couldn’t be fetched. Then I look at the release notes and then try again to look at the highscores screen it crashes an gives me a code dump 🙁
Hi Tim,
Two small questions:
1. Were did the game crashed. On the first (local) or second (global) highscore screen?
2. What was the network thread status before your entering the highscore area? See left lower part of menu screen. Was it Idle or something else.
The game crashed on the second highscores. The network was working when i clicked it.
Thanks for this reply. I will investigated it!
Hi everybody, I found the major bug in the global highscore screen with course the game to crash. With the new release v0.81 this issue is solved. Sorry that it took so long, to solve it! It was really a nasty bug. Hard to find. I would like to thanks all players with provided me with crash reports. This helped a lot to find the issue!
